Dr. Charles Kimball, author
of “When Religion Becomes Lethal,” will deliver lectures in the Winston-Salem area October 1-2. Dr. Kimball is presidential professor and director of religious studies at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. In 1996-2008, he was chair of the Department of Religion at Wake Forest University. On Monday, October
1 he will speak at River Landing at Sandy Ridge in Colfax.
The first lecture is “Understanding Islam” at 10 a.m. followed by lunch
and a book-signing at 11:30. His second
lecture is “Islam & Politics Today” at 1:30 p.m. River Landing is located at 1575
John Knox Drive in Colfax. Reservations should be made by

refreshments begin at 9:30 a.m. prior to the first lecture. On Tuesday, October 2, he will speak at 6:30 p.m. in the Brendle Recital Hall on the campus of Wake Forest University. The lecture is open to the public.
