Afternoon Book Club Tuesday, Nov. 12

Would you like to participate in an afternoon interfaith book club?

Interfaith Winston-Salem is offering a discussion of “The Faith Club” at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 in Room 204 at the Central Branch of the public library on West Fifth Street.  The discussion will be facilitated by the Rev. Paula Northrup of Clemmons United Methodist Church.  (This club is in addition to an evening book club that will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at the library.)

“The Faith Club” relates how an American Muslim woman befriends two other mothers, one Jewish and one Christian, and how they decide to educate their children about their respective religions. None of them guessed their regular meetings would provide life-changing answers and form bonds that would forever alter their struggles with prejudice, fear, and anger. Personal, powerful, and compelling, “The Faith Club” invites readers to face the tough questions about their own religions.

If you’re interested in participating you can purchase the book online.

Participation is open to anyone.  Please send an email to Jerry McLeese at jmcleese1@yahoo.com by Friday, Nov. 1 if you plan to join the group.
